- 24 May 1989: Vietnam Export Import Commercial was established;
- 06 April 1992: The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam granted the operation licence with a charter capital of VND50 billion under a name as Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank;
- 2005: Became the first bank of Vietnam issuing Visa Debit card;
- 2008: Increased the charter capital to VND7,220 billion;
- 2009: Increased the charter capital to VND8,800 billion and listed shares on Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE);
- December 2011: Increased the charter capital to VND12,355 billion;
